Cooking Explosion

So I have been lacking in my documentation of my recent cooking escapades.  Rather than leaving them forgotten forever, here’s a brief run-down of some of the my recent meals.

Dark Chocolate Mousse – Incredibly decadent dessert that makes enough mousse to serve a small army.  I recommend halving or quartering the recipe if you’re making it for 2-3 people, and you probably don’t want to even bother if you don’t have a hand mixer.

Teriyaki Salmon with Sriracha Mayo – Good with some jasmine rice, but the teriaki flavor was a bit weak.  Also, for the love of god be careful with the marinating bag, because it is a pain to get cooked sauce off of a ceramic skillet.

Triple Chocolate Pumpkin Pie – A decent pie, with more chocolate than you probably need.  Feel free to cut a bit out to avoid overpowering the flavor of the pumpkin.

Artichoke Bread – Real easy to make, and fantastic for a party snack.  Feel free to not use the mayo though, that is not a flavor you want with your cheesy, savory food.

Scottish Venison Stew – You know, stews are always pretty decent, but for the amount of wine and time required I don’t know that it’s worth it.  Not much you can do to venison that makes it taste like anything besides venison.

Ale and Cheddar Soup – Fatty and rich, with a good amount of spice to it, but it’s unlikely to take a place as your favorite soup.  Good, but not incredible.
