Quick Movie Review – Take Shelter

Take Shelter

Dewart: You’ve got a good life, Curtis. I think that’s the best compliment you can give a man; take a look at his life and say, ‘That’s good’.

It’s a testament to the filmmakers and crew that a movie about a man building a storm shelter could be so incredibly beautiful, terrifying and compelling.  It’s a story that’s intensely personal and apocalyptic at once, and the only thing I can think to criticize is its use of children as props rather than as characters.
