Quick Movie Review – The Day of the Jackal

The Day of the Jackal

Bastien-Thiry: You don’t understand. No French soldier will raise his rifle against me. [He is shot by a firing squad the next day]

A very carefully paced and well thought out international cat-and-mouse assassination suspense film, and certainly far better than its modern day remake.  It may not blow you away with action scenes or innovative cinematic techniques, but it’s a solid movie with an excellent cast that really captures the style and mood of 1970s Europe.
